Trademark Trial and Appeal Board

The Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, otherwise known as the TTAB, is the administrative hearing board that operates under the auspices of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The TTAB is involved with the federal registration of a mark and the cancellation of federal registrations. The great advantage of the TTAB is that trademark lawyers are not required to have any special license/certification to practice in front of the TTAB. However, they are required to have a special license/certification to practice in front of the USPTO.
