Two killed in Foxton crash
The accident happened on Foxton Beach Rd, just before 5am. The car had ripped up phone wires when it crashed, although any issues relating to this had been resolved and the road had been re-opened, Sergeant Mark Oliver told NZPA.

Hickory County deputy injured in crash while pursuing deputy
Brian Whalen, age unknown, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, which occurred around 11:27 pm when he was traveling north on County Road 21, 1.5 miles north of Weaubleau. He was taken to Citizen's Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.
